AVERAGE Function

Returns the average (arithmetic mean) of its arguments

  • number1  Required. The first numeric argument or reference that you want to average.
  • number2, ... Optional. 1 to 255 numeric arguments or references that you want to average.

Applies To

Excel 2003 and above


  • The arguments should be numbers, range names, arrays, or references that contain numbers.
  • If an array or reference argument contains text, logical values, or empty cells, those values are ignored; however, cells with the value zero are included.
